Since 2017, under the leadership of the Party committee and administration of MTI, with the strong support of Moutai Group, and with the cooperation of various functional departments, the Institute’s scientific research work has adopted the working ideas of “project-planning-management-service”, “talent-team-base-construction” and “research-development-industry”. We have obtained some achievements in creating scientific research atmosphere, implementing “Thesis Project in Higher Education Institutions” to serve liquor industry, promoting innovation and development of scientific research, and improving scientific research management level from the following aspects: 


First, improving the system and strengthen the management of scientific research. We will implement major policies on science and technology management and innovation in the field of education. According to the relevant national and Guizhou provincial policies on science and technology management and innovation, we have formulated 10 scientific research management measures focusing on scientific research awards, scientific research projects, research funds, achievements transformation and academic misconduct management. 


Second, strengthening guidance and guaranteeing scientific research projects. We have got 236 scientific research projects at all levels approved on the liquor industry chain, focusing on liquor making, liquor culture, liquor marketing, resource recycling and other fields. From the soil to dining table, scientific researches on Moutai liquor’s product quality, production technology and brand culture have been conducted. Among these projects, there are 3 national level projects (including 2 National Natural Science Foundation projects presided over by our staff in the name of other unit), 19 provincial and ministerial level projects, 135 municipal department level projects, 7 horizontal projects and 72 school level projects.

Third, taking root in industry to promote platform construction. We have obtained 8 disciplines and research platforms through giving full play to the industrial advantages and carrying out the construction of disciplines and scientific research platforms around liquor industry chain related research. These platforms include the provincial “Guizhou Health Wine Brewing Technology Engineering Research Center”, “Characteristic Food Resources Comprehensive Utilization Innovation Platform Construction of Moutai Institute”, the municipal department level “Brewing Microbiology and Brewing Engineering Key Laboratory”, “Guizhou Characteristic Food Resources Development and Comprehensive Utilization Key Laboratory”, “Talent Base of Characteristic Food Resources Utilization”, and the Innovation Group of “Research and Application of Key Techniques for Safe Planting of Organic Sorghum for Moutai liquor”; the discipline mainly includes the provincial key construction of “Light Industry Technology and Engineering” and “Sociology”.


Fourth, encouraging innovation to promote the accumulation of achievements. We have established incentive mechanism. For example, we reward scientific research achievements such as projects, patents, papers, monographs, etc. Besides, we try to create a good atmosphere for scientific and technological innovation, making clear that “the income distribution generated by the scientific and technological achievements of Moutai Institute transferred and licensed to other units is 70% of the scientific research team and 30% of the Institute” so as to promote the transformation of scientific and technological achievements into real productivity. Up to now, MTI has obtained 325 national authorized patents (including 1 invention patent, 102 utility model patents and 222 appearance patents), accepted 68 patents (including 28 invention patents and 40 utility model patents), and published 222 academic papers (including 15 SCI, 2 EI and 52 Chinese Core Periodicals).

Fifth, we encourage and guide teachers and students to actively participate in all kinds of innovation and entrepreneurship activities, promote learning with competition, promote innovation and entrepreneurship education reform, stimulate innovation and entrepreneurship enthusiasm, and enhance innovation awareness and entrepreneurial ability. Up to now, we have won Bronze Award in the Fifth Guizhou National “Internet plus” College Students’ Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition of Youth Red Dream Tour, Guizhou Provincial Excellence Award and “Excellent Organization Award” in the Main Track Creative Group; Third Prize in the National College Students’ Online Competition of RoboMaster2020 Single Event Competition; First Prize in College Group of Zunyi Entrepreneurship Competition, and finalists for the National Chuangyi Contest Finals. Besides, we have won Bronze Award in 2020 National Mobile Internet Innovation Competition College Group (Southwest Competition Area), and were shortlisted in the 6th “Internet plus” National College Students’ Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition for Gold and Silver Prize in Guizhou Province.
