The Department of Resources and Environment (the Department) is an important department in line with the basic national policy of resource conservation and environmental protection. In accordance with principles of ecological-friendly and low-carbon development, the Department meets the urgent need for specialty talents in improving environment, promoting eco-civilization, preventing pollution and developing circular economy.
The Department has 33 staff including the full-time and part-time teachers. Among them, there are 2 academicians of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, 18 full-time teachers (including 4 professors, 3 associate professors, 2 senior engineers and 8 lecturers), and 7 enterprise senior technical and management personnel. Most of the teachers have working experience in enterprises or institutions with rich practical experience, which has laid a solid foundation for the cultivation of innovative and applied talents.
In order to meet the needs of experimental teaching and scientific research, besides the public basic laboratories such as inorganic and analytical chemistry, organic chemistry, microbiology, computer room, etc., MTI is planning to purchase the testing instruments and equipment in the water pollution control and recycling laboratory, solid waste treatment and recycling laboratory, air pollution control laboratory, environmental monitoring laboratory, distiller’s grains comprehensive utilization laboratory with more than RMB20 million. Meanwhile, in order to improve students’ practice and training, the Department is establishing or ready to establish off campus and on campus training bases. At present, MTI has built internal practice and training base with subordinate enterprises of Moutai Group, and has established a solid off campus practice and training base with more than 10 enterprises.
